If God DOES Exist...

Faith is an empty f0rm of worship. It lacks substance and requires no mental capacity, it is the peak of intellectual laziness. All you have to do to have faith, is to believe. If there is a personal God, I think the major religions go about worshiping that being all wrong. A God who created all life must be a being with great intellect. Can you imagine how bored a God like that would be, if all he/she ever had was a relationship with humans. For a hundred thousand years we barely even had any concept of math, let alone any notion of the existence of the solar system, the universe, chemistry, mechanical physics, quantum physics, thermodynamics, and so on.

Finally, in the last 500 or so years, we have seriously begun to systemically study the universe - the medium in which God created us. We have started to look past the popular mythologies that make lame attempts to explain our existence. God must be getting excited that we are maturing past our intellectual infancy, and are leaving behind our world beliefs that are founded on dogma and ignorance. Instead, a new form of knowledge is arising - scientific knowledge. A form of knowledge based on observation, and unbiased analysis of that observation. No longer are we stuck on ideas that require faith and dogma - we are growing up as a species.

Everyday we understand more and more about God's handiwork. And we do this from the most subtlest of clues. We do not have a top down understanding of the how the universe works, for we do not have the foresight that God had when he/she made the universe. We are piecing together facts using the methodologies of science.

God would be most flattered by science, and the study of his creation. He would not be flattered by sitting in a church chanting "I love you God, I love you God" over and over. It is always more effective and shows that you have more conviction to illustrate and to act out your feelings, than to simply say them.

To summarize my feelings:

Science is the ultimate form of worship, while faith is a lame excuse for worship.
