invisible teapot in the sky

I have discovered the only one true religion in this world, and I would like to share it with all of you. The official name of this religion is teapotism. The teachings of this religion are short, but very important. But first I will tell you the tales of the tea pot.

Two thousand years ago an invisible tea pot from another galaxy came to Earth. It was in search of a highly evolved race that it could give caffeine to when the people of that race became tired. The teapot is all seeing, for it has a series of invisible satallites made out of a special form of tea that bounces video signals from all over the Earth to the teapot itsself. When a man or woman becomes tired in the day (but not after 5pm) the tea pot sends a stream of invisible tea to that person. The stream of tea becomes a vapor and forms an invisible cloud around that person. That person then breathes in tea vapors, giving them the energy that they need to carry out their daily tasks.

Not only does the teapot give us energy, but it also gives us longer life. For tea contains anti oxidants that combat aging in the human body by reducing the amount of free radicals. The more faith that one shows towards the teapot, the more anti-oxidants the tea pot will send you by its tea streams. To show faith one must show appreciation for the invisible teapot by drinking GREEN tea every morning. It is very important to not drink non green tea products, the teapot sees this as disrespectful because green tea is the official tea of the universe. If one drinks too much non Green tea, the teapot sees this as acts of disrespect, and simply put... the teapot will smite you.

The origin of the teapot is unknown, I am the only one that the teapot will communicate with, and it says that it came from a far away galaxy. It said that it is important that I spread the teachings of the teapot, for it is my holy teapotist responsibility.

The teapot told me of seven rules that one must obey to have the love of the teapot, and to avoid the wrath of the teapot. They are as follows:

1. Never drink non-green tea tea, for it is disrespectful.
2. Never drink coffee, for coffee is a dirty source of caffiene.
3. One must spread the wisdom of the invisible teapot
4. The invisible teapot is a loving, and caring entity that wants the human race to exist in peace.
5. Non invisible teapot believers deserve one fate, and that is to be beheaded.
6. One must devote their life to the teachings of tea.
7. One must worship the profit of the invisible tea pot, the one Jon Matala.

I am so glad that I have been given this ability to spread the word of the invisibl teapot. I hope you can all accept the invisible teapot into your hearts. The invisible teapot loves you!

I Cry, and I Have Hope

Sometimes I cry when I think of the injustices that religion allows. Sometimes I cry when I think of how great John Lennon was as a man, as a symbol of peace and to know that he is gone.

The human race is stuck on the idea of religion. We have to let go, or it will destroy us. Even believing in god is an injustice to humanity because it allows for a platform for religious fundamentalism to exist. This fundamentalism will destroy us all. It is most likely correct that "true" Christians believe in peace, but how many Christians are "true" Christians.

I wish non fundamental religious values could be promoted without the threat of this fundamentalism. Love for thy neighbor is a wonderful code to live by, but it is sickening that the rights of Gay and Lesbians are all but gone in this country of freedom. I blame Christianity for this, for Christianity has a strong grasp on our American society. It is forcing its morals into our children, how can you instill the idea that its okay to be intolerant towards a group of people and live with yourself?

I dont mean to pick on Christianity, its just that Christiany is the religion that I see the most. Any religion that promotes intolerance is simply, a bad thing to believe in.

I used to thank religion for giving humanity a sense of morals, something to unite us. This sense of unity allowed for modern civilizations to form, and ultimately our modern societies. But I have since read the assertion by Richard Dawkins that morals are in fact a product of the evolutionary process. That over time it was a benefit to us to have morals. One could argue that there have been cases where people who have been raised outside of society have morals very different than those of society, but Richard Dawkins proposes that it is the ABILITY to have morals that has evolved, not the actual lines of word that define the morals. So the ability to have morals is due to the evolutionary process, but the temporary morals that allowed us to reach a platform of stability I must thank religion for.

This is something that I feel very passionate about. And I do not want to rip a coping mechanism that is religion out of people's lives, but I just cannot justify letting people live in this lie. As kids we believed in Santa Clause because it made us feel better, but as we matured we accepted the truth that Santa does not exist, it was just a friendly white lie. Humanity is no longer in its infant stages, we no longer need the lie that religion gives to us, unlike Santa Clause religion was never a friendly white lie, it was a plain lie the whole time.

I do have a tremendous amount of hope for humanity because "the broad direction of history is toward enlightenment,..." -R. Dawkins. Right now America is heading in a direction away from enlightenment, and because of this its future might be in Jeopardy. But I have hope, because even if America ends, the idea of freeedom that we so strongly stick to will never end. We have been a huge stepping stone in the advancement of the Human race towards enlightenment.

As we continue to evolve as a species, and as we eventually leave this planet, and become Children of the stars, we will look back in history, and we will remember religion as an important tool that helped us achieve the stablity we needed to reach our higher goals. But also as a childish and naive idea that the school children of the future will giggle at, for religion is inherently silly.

“Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.” -Steven Weinberg (Nobel Prize winning Physicist

With all of this said, I do not want to give the message that I hate anyone based soley on their religion. I happen to not agree with some religous ideals that the major religions present. I think most religions have honest intentions, its just that in some cases people use religion to justify evil actions. If I didnt express how I feel in someway, I would feel like I would be cheating myself of my 1st amendment rights. I love humanity, I love freedom, and I love enlightenment.

I do not want to "ban" religion, or "eradicate" religion from the minds of everyone with faith. I want people to take the time to learn about the world, and view their own religion from an unbiased perspective and make their decision from there. There will always be extremists, but that is not the fault of religion, those people will be extremists anyways, they just use religion as a means to justify their views. I want people to think about their religion, and to not have blind faith in it. I am not suggesting that all people of faith are mindless drones who can only follow their faith. Nor do I want everyone to think like me, naturally I think I am right, but I very well could be wrong. I think the bible should be a book of moral guidance, not a tale of creation or godly judgement... people who use it as the latter are just ignorant of evidence and too easily let their faith blind them.
